The Municipality of Krzepice, in partnership with the Municipality of Przystajń, the Municipality of Panki, Kłobuck County and the Association of Municipalities and Counties of the Northern Subregion of the Silesian Voivodeship, has received funding from the European Union for the implementation of the project entitled: “Construction of Transport Interchange Hubs and a Network of Bus Stops in the Municipalities of Krzepice, Przystajń and Panki” under the European Funds for Silesia 2021–2027 programme.

Source of project funding: European Regional Development Fund.

Priority: FESL.03 – “European Funds for Sustainable Mobility”.

The objective of the project is to improve the quality, accessibility and operation of public transport through the construction of transport interchange hubs and a network of bus stops in the municipalities of Krzepice, Przystajń and Panki.

The project’s target group consists primarily of residents of Kłobuck County, especially the municipalities of Krzepice, Przystajń and Panki, including people commuting to work and schools; users of public and private transport, including drivers using Park&Ride facilities and cyclists using Bike&Ride facilities; as well as people with special needs, non-motorised road users, including women, and occasional users such as tourists.

Project description

The partnership project, implemented under a “design and build” formula, involves the design and construction of 3 Transport Interchange Hubs, together with passenger service infrastructure:

  1. In Krzepice: including bus stops and bus bays, a Park&Ride car park, Bike&Ride bicycle parking spaces, access roads and transport routes, sanitary facilities and a photovoltaic installation.
  2. In Przystajń: including a Park&Ride car park, Bike&Ride bicycle parking spaces, access roads and transport routes, bus shelters and bus bays, together with the modernisation of 3 bus stops outside the interchange hub.
  3. In Panki: including a Park&Ride car park, Bike&Ride bicycle parking spaces, access roads and transport routes.

The project also includes landscaping and greenery planting, street furniture, LED lighting and parking systems.

At the same time, an information and promotional campaign will be carried out as part of the project to promote the use of low-emission public transport and non-motorised mobility.

Expected results and main benefits of the project

  1. Improved access to public transport services enabling residents to reach public, economic and residential destinations.
  2. Increased interest in public transport, including bus and rail services.
  3. Reduced private car traffic in the centres of towns and localities in favour of public transport.
  4. Reduced congestion in the road transport system, particularly in the centres of Krzepice, Przystajń and Panki, and consequently in Częstochowa, the municipalities of the Upper Silesian–Zagłębie Metropolis, as well as on national and regional roads.
